Welcome to the July edition of the TC10 newsletter.
In this newsletter you will find information about the next GREC 2013, the open PhD positions and the Signature Verification Datasets.
Jaehwa Park and Alicia Fornés, IAPR-TC10 Newsletter Editors.
The TC-10 and GREC 2013 organizing committee are glad to announce that the Tenth International Workshop on Graphics Recognition will be held at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, on August 20-21 2013.
As tradition wants it, GREC will be held close to the ICDAR conference and will try to keep its highly interactive, productive and open atmosphere, making it the place to be for discussing current trends of graphics recognition, for keeping up to date with recent advances, but also for discovering more prospective works and interacting with both young and more experienced researchers in the field.
A full submission timeline as well as submission instructions will be made available soon.
Looking forward to seeing you at Lehigh University, The GREC 2013 organizing committee

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Document Image Analysis
Document Analysis Systems
Camera-based Document Processing
Basic Research and Methodologies for Document Processing
Document Databases and Digital Libraries
The conference will be held at the Omni Shoreham hotel in Washington DC, USA with the main conference being held 25th-28th August 2013, workshops on the 23rd and 24th, and half-day tutorials on the 24th and 25th.

Open PhD position at the Computer Vision Center Pattern Recognition and Document Analysis Group
The Pattern Recognition and Document Analysis group (DAG) is formed by 15 researchers from different countries, specifically devoted to research and development of pattern recognition and computer vision techniques applied to document analysis. More information on the group can be found at http://dag.cvc.uab.es.
The group opens a PhD position in the analysis of graphical documents. The PhD work will be focused on the research of graphical symbol representation, recognition, indexation and retrieval algorithms.
Successful candidate will become doctoral student at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The scholarship is given for a maximum of 4 years provided successful progress. It includes a master degree on Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence during the first year and should lead to a final PhD dissertation. The candidate must perform high quality research leading to the publication of papers in well-known international conferences and journals with high impact factor.

New datasets archived at the TC11 Web Site
We are pleased to announce that the ICFHR 2010 and ICFHR 2012 " Signature Verification Competition" datasets (4NSigComp2010 / 4NSigComp2012) are now available through the TC11 Web site. The collections contain offline genuine and simulated/forged signature samples.
We would like to remind you that the TC10 and TC11 Web sites always welcome contributions of new datasets or other resources related to the community. We would like to encourage all the TC11 members to submit such material to the TC11 for archiving. The availability of datasets, ground truth and performance evaluation tools online is not only good practice, but also a requirement for a field to progress.
We would like make a special request to the organizers of recent and future competitions. Independently of whether you have the competition datasets and evaluation tools available through other Web sites, please consider archiving them with TC10 / TC11 as well. Web sites often go off-line and useful resources are frequently lost forever.
Please check the TC10 site on information about how to submit datasets for archiving.
