First an foremost, the following call for nominations to IAPR Fellowship

Call for Nominations – Deadline February 1, 2004

IAPR Fellowship was introduced in 1994 to acknowledge distinguished contributions of IAPR members to the field of pattern recognition and to IAPR activities. The complete list of Fellows can be retrieved from the IAPR web site at http://www.iapr.org/fiapr.html. IAPR Fellowship is a prestigious award. According to the Constitution and Bylaws of IAPR, the
number of fellows elected biannually must not exceed 0.25% of the total IAPR membership. Not only service to IAPR but also scientific contributions to the field of pattern recognition are to be taken into account in the election procedure.

The Fellow Committee solicits nominations of high quality. Instruction for 2004 IAPR Fellow Nomination and a Fellow Nomination form can be downloaded from http://www.iapr.org/fellow.htm. The recipients selected in the 2004 selection process will be honored with a certificate at the 17th ICPR in Cambridge, UK. The Fellow Committee consists of Jake Aggarwal, Carlo Arcelli, Horst Bunke and Dmitry Chetverikov.

Nominations must be received before the deadline of February 1, 2004 by the Chairman of the Fellow Committee in both electronic and hardcopy form at the following address:

- Due to popular demand, the ICPR 2004 deadline for paper submissions has been extended until after the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The deadline for paper submissions is now 5 January 2004.
